March 31 is the last day for this fundraising quarter. In addition to the benefit of the money itself, when these numbers get reported it is a major media thing. If Gov. Richardson does not have a strong showing, talking heads are going to say he does not have a shot; if he does do well, maybe they will start paying more attention to his progress.
